Trip computer -anyone really use it?

I don't think I've ever used the trip computer options. Stuff like distance to destination, ETA, Speed alarm, seems cool to read about in the brochure, but doesn't seem worth the trouble to enter trip info.
I like to know ext. temp, distance til empty, MPG. But that other stuff???
Maybe I'm missing something here. What functions of the trip computer do you use?
