Sounds like the dealer is on to something with the "chip" or ECU. It could happen to anybody with any make of car as No.9 points out. Just because we Saabers maintain that a 9-5 is probably one of the most reliable cars you can have, doesn't take the sting out of it for you. Like any catastrophic event, you just have to trust and work through it. Worrying too much can be more harmful than the problem. Batteries and electronics fail for no reason at all on everyones cars. I know this doesn't make it less frustrating when it happens to you.
