I bought a 95 900 in 1999, thinking it was very safe, only to have the NHTSA rate the thing "marginal" in a couple areas. I'm looking at new cars(Honda cr-v, subaru forrester, saturn Vue) and used cars(volvo s80, BMW 528) both for me and my two teenage daughters.
All I ask is that it be fun to drive and not-to-worry safe.
The 9-5 doesn't have a side impact rating by NHTSA
I saw mention of glowing impact studies from europe, but cannot find source.
I saw mention of very low death rates/100k miles traveled, but nosource for this either.
I'd like to stay loyal to the brand and teach my girls the joys of saab ownership, but I gotta sleep at night knowing they are in the safest vehicle .
Please help me with numbers/sources. Thanks.
