There are folks who are getting 300HP from these engines, tranys and shafts. These components are not failing from overload. These are daily drivers and go for years with these mods.
The larger problem is shock loads and if someone is reving the engine and dropping the clutch, then things can be damaged... mostly the clutch. But you don't need a modification to create such shock loads.
Some people will wear out a clutch quite quickly with a stock linear. With a modified Aero some with good technique with the clutch will go for many years with no problems. So clutch life mostly is determined by driver technique not HP.
You concept that there is something that is always ready and next to fail is silly. There are years and years of experience with these vehicles that just does not go in the direction that you want to go. You are been driven by emotion. If you want more power, just do it and enjoy your Saab and life.
