Information for fellow backward looking manual shifters

Hi,
For those who despise manual shifters and oil discussers (LOU), you
shouldn't be reading this :-)
Anyhow, for those of us who like to drive manual transmission and
want to know proper revs for given speed for given gear, the following
is information I compiled for MXV4+.
Someone else may use the Excel spread-sheet for whatever they want.
If you make any money off of it, I want a "taste" :-) Just kidding.
The picture is just screen-shot of graph contained in Excel document.
The different lines show speed vs. RPM for given gear.
It shows that at 6000 rpm and in First gear, you'd be foolishly doing
32MPH.
It also shows that at 2000 rpm and in Fifth gear, you'd be cruising
at a grand-motherly 55MPH.
You can use this information to provide a sanity check for your
double-clutch down-shifts. So, say you're cruising at 55 mph in fourth
gear, and you want to reduce your speed to 45mph and go down to third
gear, you'd have to make your tachometer read approximately 3000 RPM for
the shift to go smoothly. You would have been previously cruising at
2700 RPM in fourth. But, if you want to go all the way down to second
gear, you'd have to make your tachometer read almost 4500 RPM for the
shift to go smoothly and be easy on synchronizers and clutch.
I hope this helps.
thanks
Jae
