If you shift your Aero from 1 to 2 at 3K RPM, then you are engaging 2 at < 2K RPM which is below peak torque. Also, when shifting at that point you get the dreaded engine RPM hang as discussed in other threads. I find it better to hold 1st until 3500 RPM or so, even when not in a hurry, since it helps reduce those 2 issues.
