Just bought my first SAAB about 2 wks ago ('00 9-5 SE Wagon with just under 20K mi.) - woo-hoo!! Managed to convince my wife to go with this over the Volvo - double woo-hoo!! (Actually, I believe the car itself did the convincing, my preference for this car would normally be enough to make her dig her heels in and want the other car.)
My question(s):
How accurate is the SID w.r.t. gas mileage? Our first highway trip resulted in about 27mpg on the SID - seems pretty reasonable. Around town though, I'm seeing 12-14 mpg. Might be accurate, I tend to be a bit lead-footed when I get in a car that handles well (I normally drive a 4x4 Pickup and the high center of gravity and generally poor dynamics force me to take things a bit easier - a good thing for my driving record, but not as much fun).
Several things about the car indicate to me that it was either an old-lady car, or a rich-person-needed-a-station-wagon-to-go-to-the-store car and saw little highway time. So, I'm thinking the injectors could really use a cleaning treatment - Any suggestions beyond Techron BGK44?
