It's the dealers bill from the factory.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Tue, 22 Jul 2003 15:34:43 In Reply to: But what is invoice?, prlf, Sun, 20 Jul 2003 14:17:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The invoice is the factory's bill to the dealer. It similar to the window sticker also called the Monroney label named after the guy who sponsored the national legislation that created consistent window stickers on cars. But its the dealers cost compared side by side with the list price. It also has the GM Supplier price and the GM employee price at the lower left. It's a 8 1/2 x 11 single page that's consistent from dealer to dealer. Sometimes dealers in a certain region will agreen to be invoiced an advertising charge. I believe that's where this whole thread got started. All cars have an MSRP or Monroney and a dealers invoice. In addition to that a manufacturer or distibutor may offer incentives. If they're public they become taxable rebates. If they're private as with Saab, the dealer can deduct them from the sales price before taxes.
