after the system has been running a while and stabilized?
Perhaps there is a calibaration issue.
If it's just the initial fan speed that seems too high for you when the cold car is beginning to warm up (as your exchange with DavidF above described), then I doubt if there is anything wrong with your system (or DavidF's). It is functioning correctly. You asked for a warmer condition, it is significantly colder, it now has heat to give, it is going to get that heat into the space as quick as it can. It only wants to please you. If you find it uncomfortable (it is both defroster and floor discharge, you never answered my early post), then you can manually control the fan.
Regarding RECIRC, if it is humid outside (raining, wet snow), you will have better luck removing moisture from the cabin with RECIRC, than w/o it. The cooling coil should be more than adequate to give low-humidity air. If it is dry outside, and you've filled the wagon with wet dogs (all SAAB owners have dogs, right?), then you'd be better off w/o RECIRC.
