Please don't take my comments as an attack. Simply an observation - GM is not the only manufacturer to execute de-contenting to shore up the balance sheet. The point being some of these little conveniences and novel engineering that literally saves the manufacturer perhaps $100 per car could be left in with a buyer willing to pay $200, $300 or perhaps more for the features. That's 100% - 200% return! Pretty darn good for the auto industry. I think that's a message worth sending to any manufacturer that we care about and who cares about its customers.

Ok - that's my reasoned explanation of my original position against de-contenting the 9-5.

Now addressing your response. Did you read it before you sent it? Do you really sell Saabs? I was stunned to see how "me" focused your response was and how little you were able to see past yourself and your "need" to sell cars rather than being customer focused.
