...but I couldn't handle having a part I considered to be "not recommended." So I had it swapped back to a black DI.
My idiot mechanic put the red DI in because he had no black ones in stock, asserting that it would not be a problem, and that he had put red DIs in numerous cars before mine. To his credit, it ran just fine in the two days I had it in. I'd be curious what would have happened if I left it in for a long period of time though.
