They make money by forcing suppliers to go as cheaply as possible. Maybe the heavy hand of GM stepped in right about the time they were going from T5 to T7? I really hope not. I think the money flowing in from GM helped develop the 9-5 and new 9-3 which I think are the best Saabs yet.
I have a T5 9-3 with 90K miles on a red DI cassette and a 2002 9-5 with the black at 30K miles. No DI cassette problems though. Thinking about keeping a spare around for the car that actually sees the highway these days.
