Hey J how's it going?
awg: I like both German Castrol & M1 0W-40 but here's the pros and cons as I see them--
GC: somewhat harder to find, only available at some AutoZones. Slightly quicker turbo spool up compared to M1 0W-40. Uncertain if Castrol will keep importing this stuff.
M1 0W-40: Slightly better fuel economy over GC, better retail distribution. Should be available for a long time since it's the factory recommendation for Mercedes, Porsche, and SAAB.
SAAB has stopped importing the "SAAB 0W-30 synthetic" oil from Europe and the dealers will carry M1 0W-40 instead.
I used German Castrol instead of M1 0W-40 because it's simply what I had on hand. I'd use either.
