Yep, I lost 2 mpg switching to M1 15W-50, two round trips from Los Angeles to San Deigo. One with 0W-40 and the other with 15W-50. I'm going back to M1 0W-40 on the next oil change. When I drained the oil, it was the only stuff I had on the shelf at the time.
If I remember correctly, I think it was Lingenfelter, did some dyno runs with different oil pumps (high volume, high pressure, & standard pump) and oils and registered Hp diffences. The reason GM lists lighter oils for their vehicles (4's to V8's) is for the CARB rating.
