Drive the Honda.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: When buying a previously owned 9-5 should I..., Dennis, Tue, 7 Sep 2004 07:46:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Ari's right, in the end it doesn't matter, but I, a Saab sales consultant, would assume that a Honda driver is more thrifty than a 9-5 driver. I was especially fond of Ari's comment about treat the salesperson with respect, and expect to be treated with respect as well. Often a dealers sales staff are their own worst enemies.
One of the more powerful games you can play with us sales types is to leave. If you've made an offer then they have your contact info, if they decide to accept it or make a counter offer they can get in touch. It often takes a typical Saab customer multiple visits to finally conclude a sale. The longer you're at the dealership, the better relationship the good ones will establish, and the more likely you'll go for their program or price.
I know I appreciate the more informed customer as often I can meet what the buying and pricing services say is a fair price for a car. As with driving the Honda instead of the Saab, it's the expectations of non highline or premium car folks that can be tough to meet.
You can post your progress on the BB or you can click on Ari's or my name and contact us directly. Informed customers often don't contact or post high prices, but instead want assurances because often the deal seems too good or there are miles vs price vs equipment and models questions with regards to value.
Good luck. Which 9-5 have you decided on?
