I helped my indie get a 55 gal. drum of it through a distributor, then the price went up on the second drum so we both now go to NAPA. They can order it if they don't have it on the shelves. I think around $9/gal.
It's kind of a sad story. The chemist I spoke with two years ago told me they expected to be on Wal-Mart shelves that summer, next to Dexcool which is where it should be, ever since Ford and Chrysler (besides MB) approved it for their extended life.
It's as good as or better than Dexcool and it's approved for at least as many cars. Mopar, MB, Ford, etc. etc. I guess it's still Ford ext. life, but my info's 2 years old.
Only thing I can figure is the marketing push to the discount chains fell flat on its arse, or GM and Prestone and all the biggies figured out how to strongarm their outlets to keep it off the shelves. Harsh words, I know - but something sure doesn't make sense.
Anyway, check out NAPA.
