To extend warranty or not to extend warranty...

Hi,
I purchased a 2001 Aero wagon earlier this year that has about 300 miles left on the factory warranty. Since I have owned the car, I already had to have the throttle body replaced, a seatbelt receiver replaced, and some bulbs. Overall, I am very happy with the car. I hope to keep it for a few years and put some substantial mileage on it.
I inquired about an extended warranty from warrantydirtect and they want approx. $2200 for a full bumper to bumper extended warranty for 4 years or 50k miles(in addition to the 50k miles I already almost have). Once I go beyond the 50k miles I almost have now, that price would go up substantially. I really don't think I will go for this, it seems very expensive, and my idea is that even if I have some DI problems, I most likely will not spend $2200 in repairs that would be covered under warranty. But I wanted to get others opinions who own 9-5 Aeros.
How are the Aeros in terms of reliability between 50k and 100k miles? My gut feel is that most will have some problems but not major ones. In other words, most Aero's don't have their turbo fail (although I heard that it is more common for the LPT turbo to fail) and the automatic gearbox is solid.
Please give me some feedback as I will decide on what to do in the next few days, like I said, I am leaning against no warranty.
By the way, I did not purchase this car from a dealer so I was told CPO is not an option.
thanks
