If I understand you correctly, you just really want to try painting a car!
Well,we all start somewhere! I reccomend you get some books on it to get a
better idea of what your getting into. Yes your paint will stick, but first
you have to take care of any rust spots you may have and fix them accordingly. Then wet sand the entire car with 600 grit sandpaper. Don't sand off all the factory paint only what is flaking off. The original paint
is the best primer you can have!!!!When you get the body the way you want it,degrease the car with a special cleaner. When dry, have a beer and try your luck . One gallon of paint is more than enough when mixed accordingly
with the proper reducer and hardener. I just painted mine and used half gallon of candy apple red(super #@%$&*&@!@#&! shiney!!!) Rent the equipment, take your time, sray from top to bottom, GO FOR IT! Good luck, Ken
