There are two hex nuts on the tranmission (15mm). One is on the side (filler hole) and the other is on the bottom (drain hole). When filling the transmission only fill to the point oil begins to seep out. By the way your car is fairly new and shouldn't need new oil unless there was a leak. VW says not to change oil however I usually change mine. I can't see not changing the oil and letting all of the debrise and metal filings float around in there causing more problems. They recommend synthetic 75w90. I have a TDi diesel so the transmission is not driven hard like I do with the SAAB. I am learning though through this site that the SAAB transmission needs babying especially if the car has many miles on it (mine has 121k)
If you have the Bentley manual (Red cover for cars 1993-1999), look on page 0-28 for illustrations and fluid recommendation.
