Glad to "hear" you got that new system up and running, and yeah, do enjoy the new set of rear speakers when you get them! Not to plant any more seeds or anything, but you might end up doing what I did when I decided to upgrade beginning last fall. I couldn't get enough bass, plus the watts to power same! I ended up with a truly monstrous (in terms of power and clarity) system that I pieced together and installed myself. Even the 4x50 watt head unit wasn't clean enough at a high volume, so I bought a 500 watt amp to power the front and rear main speakers, plus a 300 watter to push a rear deck mounted 12" subwoofer. While it sounds darn good, a funny thing keeps happening while I cruise the congested freeways of Los Angeles with the stereo cranked - the 500 watt amp keeps shuting off from overheating! So what I've decided to do is mount a 12v CPU fan on top of the unit for extra cooling. I'll have to drill several holes through the top and sides of the amp chassis draw out the heat. If that fan doesn't cool it enough, I have a larger one that will. I know it's a heat issue, because the 300 watt sub-amp has a built-in cooling fan doing exactly what I intend to do with the 500 watt unit. The sub amp never shuts off at a high volume, and it's even located in a warmer location than the 500 watt amp.

Tomorrow's chore - finally replacing my leaky power steering rack.
