I own a '94T-conv. Unfortunatley it is an auto trans but...it is still nice. 5-speed convertibles are for some reason a bit rare in these years but they are out there. I would try to find one if I was looking again. A 5-speed turbo is a completley different car than the automatic.
No big trouble spots with these besides usual old 900 spots....which means budget for a head gasket at some point around 90-100K miles. Auto trans are more prone to failure than the 5-speeds but...a well cared for auto will also last a while. Mine has 102K on it...I change the trans fluid with every oil change however.
I think that if you buy one you will find yourself driving it more than your 1999. These cars have some way of attaching themselves to you.
