I was re-reading the literature (from Townsend) about the updated supply check valve. Did you do this one or did you replace your return one? I guess my question is if you replaced your free flowing supply fitting with a supply check valve, do you also replace your existing functional return check valve with a free flowing fitting? The TSB only refers to replacing the supply one with no mention of any mods to the return fitting. I think mine are fine, but I was wondering of any benefits of a supply check valve used with a return check valve. I assume a properly pressurized system, but would it ever overpressurize?
I did the bentley test to test the return valve: turn car off, clamp return line shut (after fpr) and see if pressure increases. It did - in fact I neglected to immediately remove the clamp and the increasing pressure actually popped off my supply fitting at the pump (I had the top cap removed...). I assume this would tell me that my return valve is working and that I have an integral pump supply check valve.
My pressure is better, and the vapor lock/hard start is gone with the fixed fpr back in, but it still drops to zero after a number of hours. No longer drops to zero after 20 minutes.
Any thoughts on the redundant check valves?
Thanks once again.
