one way to plan this?? Posted by JimBlake [Email] (#141) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JimBlake) on Wed, 4 Sep 2002 13:05:07 In Reply to: Townsend vs. SaabCenter, Chris-Miami, Wed, 4 Sep 2002 12:32:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Compared to "normal" cars, its real easy to remove the plastic cover over the clutch. Then you can get a real good look around & see if the rear crank seal is leaking. I think if its leaking you should be able to see the oil & add the seal to your parts order. Then put the cover back & wait for UPS...
When you get the parts & do the work, you'll remove the clutch & see the surface of the flywheel. Then you can decide if you want to get it resurfaced. You don't have to buy parts for that. After getting the clutch out, removing the flywheel is a piece of cake. Even if your crank seal isn't leaking, its easier to clean crud off if the flywheel is out of the way. You don't have to worry about keeping the flywheel clean while you clean out the bellhousing.
