It sounds to me like you need to bleed your system in order to expel the air trapped in the hydraulics of your clutch system. As already suggested, you need to located your slave cylinder. Then you need to connect a hose to the slave cylinder bleeder valve. Place the other end of the hose in a susitable jar partially filled with brake fluid. Fill the master cylinder with brake fluid. Open the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder a half turn. Place a cooling system tester gauge over the opening of the master cylinder. Pump the tester until all air has been expelled from the system. Close the slave cylinder bleeder valve. Check to see that all the air has been removed from the system by pushing down on the clutch pedal.
Can you remember fiddling with your brake fluid level recently? Have you taken a trip somewhere and left the cap off your brake reservoir? You could have picked up air in your hydraulic system that way. Brock Rooster may have pulled a dumb trick like that, but I'm sure you wouldn't.
Good luck.
