Well, that could explain how air got in there.
I see your later posts asking where is the slave cylinder... Each slave cylinder (one for the clutch, one for each brake caliper) has a bleed nipple. Its a little hose barb, with maybe a rubber cap on it.
If you have no idea how long its been (previous owner?) then change the fluid. That means bleeding the brakes, too. Have you ever done that? You don't exactly drain it, but you can suck the reservoir empty with something like a turkey baster. Then you have to fill it, & pump the fresh fluid out to each caliper/slave. That pushes the air bubbles out & also puts fresh brake fluid in all the tubes & calipers.
Like you've said... You GOTTA get a Bentley manual... There's probably some specific things for ABS brakes that I don't know about.
