My '85 n/a is 8v CIS. I don't know the ins/outs real well, but it looks like a direct re-wire would be simplest (ugh) in my case given there aren't any 'younger' harnesses out there except for '86. Well, I wonder - the base 900 thru '88 was still 8v but I don't know if it stayed CIS or went LH (I don't know engine management well at all)?
Having checked the wiring at every opportunity, I think the engine bay harness is the only real potential boogey man. I was envisioning having to trace back and replace each wire in the bundle. They spring out from the fuse box if not from a connector/widget elsewhere, it seems? Looks like new connectors, re-spading the fuse box as needed, and (practically speaking) all one-color harness would be the order of the day and quite a putz-fest, or am I overlooking something else more simple (happens all the time!)?
I see what you mean, though. If my '85 was a 16v turbo then it would make sense at least performance wise to go the LH harness route. Thanks again,
'85 900S 205k
