No need to get personnal! I have 3 Saabs, no turbos, I am aware of how they function. I have never driven any car with a turbo, and as I susupected, I probably did not get any of the benefits from the turbo on my test ride. It was local 40 MPH roads, in an unfamiliar car, with the owner sitting next to me. I did not get an opportunity to check it's passing speed.
As far as lowball offers, I have already insulted former Saab owners 3 times, only to have them jump on my offers. Not everyone knows about the Saab Network, many folks don't even have computers, and some people do not perform their own mechanical work. Unless you are a Saab fan, you may not know the real value of a Saab. Now, this SPG, asking price is $3800, Edmunds book price is $1400, car dealer trade-in is about $1150. Now, to Saab fans, yep $3800. To this poor guy, who has advertised this car 5 times since November, anything he can get is great. He reghrets not trading it in for his new Beemer.
There is a very small market for European sports luxury cars over 10 years old. Saabs can be picked up cheap, unlkie BMW's Jag's, & Mercedes.
30 years ago, old Beemer's were cheap too, but they have gained in reliablity recognition, and prices have gone up. Now the average Saab owner has a stack of cancelled checks & $1000+ receipts to show how the always break down. Good reason to get rid of them cheap.
I only offer what I can afford to pay. Perhaps if I were YOUR car salesman, I'd be driving a new Beemer too
