Why are Saabs considered hard to work on?

Today, I spent 4 hours working (and cursing ) on my old Buick, just replacing a damn wheel cylinder, shoul;d be a 10 minute job. Apparently the flare fitting thread is a TINY bit screwed up, and won't thread in.
After just giving up on the Buick, I turned my attention to my 92 Saab with a leaky hose by the back of the water pump. I had all 3 hoses off the car in 10 minutes, without removing the AC compressor. All the hose clamp heads were accessable, and a little leverage with a long screwdriver pried them all off. I know installing them will be a little more trouble, but I realy have no trouble with Saabs anymore. The jobs are easier than they look.
UNLIKE MY OLD BUICK, simple jobs seem to take forever
