of your master cylinder. However, with the exception of having to contort your body for a few minutes, the clutch pedal is relatively easy to remove. Make sure you have a 17mm open end wrench and a 17mm socket. Undo the clip that holds the cleaves pin in, remove the pin, take out the pivot bolt, and unhook the return spring, and the pedal is out. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. Once it's out, you can do a better inspection. The area that wears out is the small hole that the cleaves pin goes through. In my case, the hole and the bushing that sits in there was so shredded and distorted that it was causing a clicking to be heard when I depressed the clutch At first when I heard this noise I thought some relay was engaging inside the dash !!! It drove me crazy wondering what it was.
After I read someone else's clutch pedal story on here, I decided to have a look for myself. I couldn't really notice the damage without removing the pedal because it was dark out when I did this. Also, some folks have suggested fixing the existing pedal by drilling to 3/8ths and inserting a new bushing. I opted to buy a new pedal for the sake of ease and time.
