Anybody know where I can post the pictures?
Step 1 - remove the bolt for the lower spring seat
step 2- spring compressor - strut type - nut on top -
clamp on the the 3-4-5 coils (count from bottom) on shock side
Wind the compressor up until the clips touch - you can use the saftey thingies
step 3- on the front side of the spring clamp on 2-3-4-5 coils (again count fomthe bottom) wind it up until the spring comes off the seat enough on the rear (shock side) for you to release the compressor - then set it to clamp 1-2-3-4-5.
step 4- now crank the rear side down and down and down. Eventually you'll hear a pop - when the bump stop comes free.
step 5- start to wedge a good sized screw driver betweenthe a-arm and the lower coil seat. Eventually you will be able to pry up on the screw driver and the pull the seat forward. The compressor should not interfeer with the brakes etc. Wiggle around and you are done.
It took me about 45 min (not quite enough room to use air tools.
If we were clever. We would buy shorter bolts for the spring compressor, put it in with the bolts pointed down and impcat wrench away.
THIS WHOLE THING IS SOOOOO MUCH EASIER WITH THE SPG SPRINGS!!!!!!!!!!!
