Estimate is ridiculous...an exercise in how much they can pad a bill.
The only thing I would pursue with the dealer is the brake fluid leak at the firewall. What did they fix the last time?
I would look at the brake hoses in the front wheel wells to see if they are leaking. While they probably are cracked a bit and might be swelling(and deserve replacement), this is probably not the source of the leak(if there are hose leaks, don't drive the car). Show them the leak at the firewall and ask why this is not related to the previous repair.
The expansion valve is an A/C part that controls the flow of refrigerant depending on temperature. The only valve that reacts to coolant expansion, really just pressure, is the valve in the cap on the coolant resevoir. Go figure.
I would pin down the creak by squirting some soapy water or even windex or armorall on the control arm bushings and swaybar inner and end mounts, one at a time until the creak stops. Fix the creaker only.
For you steering column ujoint, a shot of wd40 is not enough you really should heat it up. The hair dryer approach usually will keep the ujoint free for a couple of years. The heat softens up the grease in the needle bearings and relubes it internally.
