O F*CK ME!pt2-split fuel line@ filter banjo bolt

CAN A BANJO BOLT BE RE-SET INTO THE PLASTIC FUEL LINE? ON THE CAR?
Yes, in the wee hours of this morning after spending all night getting to my fuel filter I tore open the plastic fuel line (the LONG one going to engine bay) right where it press fits quite tightly over the banjo bolt's barbed nipple. There's a sharpish corner, it turns out, on my biggest adjustable wrench which I had on the filter flats, which aren't deep enough to get much of ANYTHING on them on that concave side...
So is there a tool/technique for on-site repair of such an issue? Ideally I just want to clip an inch off the plastic line and re-set the banjo bolt in it, but that line is HARD and I'm already way up my car's ass with less than 8" of line to play with.
Has anybody successfully done something like this? Or do I just have to replace the entire line now?
