I've also noticed that the two wires that go to the top of the APC solenoid valve have lost ALL of their insulation and are just bare, stranded wire. The insulation is also coming off the wire that runs to the knock sensor on the engine block.
I've got a lot of wire to replace and I don't have a problem with that. I'm just persnickety and want to do it right. I want to replace the wire with the exact gauge and color that was originally there if possible.
I'd also like to replace the wire with good wire. I thought that '86 and '87 had the same wiring problems the '85 had so I'm not sure I want to procure a harness from one of these model years only to have them crumble later.
I wish I knew where to buy the connectors they used. I could just re-make the entire wiring loom from scratch, assuming I could find the wire (1mm^ cross-section stranded) in the colors they used after '87. Maybe from Europe somewhere?
