Wiring Question (how to disassemble)

I went to the junkyard today and found myself a '91 900 with a perfect wiring loom I want: the one that goes between the driver's door lock actuator and ends next to the fuse box (3 conductor). I have an '85 with a corroded wiring loom I want to replace to get the central locking working again.
So I'm at the junkyard disassembling this thing and got stuck: I can't seem to figure out how the rubber accordian thingy between the door and the body of the car (which the wiring to the door runs through) is attached to the door. I popped off both ends of the thing but the middle is tied to the door somehow. I can't get the door open far enough to see what's going on in there because it hits the car next to it (a junked Volvo).
Does anyone know: is this a cable tie or a metal clip, or what? Do I have to take the friggin' door off tomorrow just to get this wire loom out?
Also, while I'm asking: anyone know how to tighten the passenger side powered mirror to the body? Mine's loose and when driving rattles around quite a bit. Can't figure out how to tighten this.
