Regarding the sideview mirror wobble, if it is the glass wobbling, definitely pull it off and reglue with some good epoxy, as Saana88 suggested.
But it could be the mirror body is worn out - you'll be able to wiggle the whole thing while the piece that is attached to your car remains immobile. You can get a new-new one, or find a used one with doesn't wobble. My cheapest fix is a small bead of silicone caulking between the mirror body and the piece that attaches to the door. Sure, if someone bonks it, the silicone will break, but you've saved some $$...
Good luck with the harness - my '86 has the disintegrating wires, too - fun!
