There is no legitimate use for an SUV other than offroad use? If I don't go offroad 10% of the time, I can't own one in your opinion?

I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but when logic and reason leave the conversation, I just can't help myself.

No one is going to argue that there are problem people in SUV's. There are problem people in Saabs too. In addition to that, we could all go back to the threads about Subaru WSX's, tuner kid-cars with fart can mufflers, mini vans full of 6 distractions to the driver who's on the cell phone at the same time. Remember those?

And I should pay for additional salt? Interesting position.

I'm sure others can start blasting me simply for disagreeing. So I'll just leave this as my opinion and nothing more. It's a well supported concept though, that as soon as you start to restrict freedoms of personal choice, it only makes any associated problems worse. You can't legislate common sense, no matter how hard you try. You can't fix stupid. People who pass you on the right are behaving stupidly. So are the kids drag racing their tuner cars. So are the people that vehemently defend their right to drive as fast as they want so long as they are in the left lane. So are the people who drink and drive. So are the people who smoke. So are the people that are 20pounds or more overweight. So are the boom-car fans that drive me nuts in residential neighborhoods. So are peole who zoom around wildly on crotch-rocket street bikes, wearing nothing but shorts and a tshirt.

If we are going try to legislate common sense, let's cover the whole spectrum. Not just me, who happens to own a 2500HD beast, for legitimate reasons other than off-road use. Being frustrated with someone who passed you on the right, and over-generalizing an entire group of people, many of whom have nothing in common...big difference.
