Thanks for the help on what SUV means, though I'm already familiar with the concept. I don't work on a construction site. That's not what my truck is for. Yet there are other legitimate reasons for having one. If not a 2500HD, then a Suburban or similar. And these do fall into the definition that you gave me. My brother in law drives a Suburban that pulls his camper because he and his family love to go camping. Not because he's macho. There are a lot of reasons for them. That said, I do get your point.

If we can agree that it's the PEOPLE that drive SUV's for nothing more than the image of it all, then I think we might be on to something. And if we are, then we can probably agree that there's no way to legislate common sense and you can't fix stupid.

If we are going to try to fix stupid, then we should go ahead and attack it head-on, all fronts, every possible place stupid rears its head. We should probably include the crotch rockets, the boom cars, the tuners and the moms with minivans too. They all have their place in the no-common-sense hall of fame. A dad just like me with 2 kids same age as mine, was killed near my home not too long ago - got in the way of a street race that apparently topped 100mph at the point of the collision. That's my hot button. I have a big truck for a reason. I pay higher taxes because it sucks fuel (road tax) at an alarming rate. It mostly sits next to the garage though - only comes out when it has to work. People are dying for no good reason because others are stupid. Big truck, small tuner car, quad axle dump truck - doesn't matter. Stupid shows up and people get hurt or die.

You are a much more prevalent poster here than I. I'm just a long-time visitor who mostly reads what you write. So I consider this mostly your home turf. I'm not going to disrespect you for a second, not here...

If I came across that I did, apologies. It was just food for thought, possibly poorly written.
