thanks again for your wonderful advice. i have tried to find someone with a truck or car with a hitch to rent from but no one will let me do it. they want to do it themselves for $300 plus gas. i checked uhaul truck and dolly plus insurance and gas- close to $400. i even looked into putting a hitch on a jeep but that costs about $300! there is no easy way to do this.

again, i have nowhere to keep my car if i sell it for parts and i can't get the parts out myself. my car chose to die in the worst place possible- but it made one final road trip, which gives me some comfort.

the mechanic in galesburg doesn't want it since no one buys saabs out there.
yes, my dream is that someone wants to save it and put an engine in it, but it looks like it may be a parts car.

so a mechanic would pay about $200? the never used battery cost me $70 and the new radio/CD was $100. i hate to lose that money.. ugh!!!

what is a reasonable price to ask from an individual who wants to buy it for parts and they will go get it themselves? i want to be fair.

i dont have a picture of my car here- they are in CA! i submitted a picture of my dogs (a cavalier king charles spaniel and a husky) but the web guy didnt put it up for some reason. i thought my dogs would inspire someone to buy my car- they lost their beach car.

so, again thanks to all who have written and been supportive.

should i buy another saab? my mechanic has a 1992 9000 4 door automatic with 89,000 miles driven by an old lady. they serviced it for her. they want $2200. any comments? things to watch out for? it should pass CA emissions which is very important to me and it should make it across country when i move in jan.

or should i learn my lesson that once you leave a major city, you are screwed if you have a problem with your saab? are jeeps ok? i need room for my dogs and surfboard...
