Sounds like a vacuum leak and what about the AIC? Mine is original...so I've had to dismantle it and 'recondition' it to make it work right again rather than find an expensive replacement for the 85's. Mine was letting in unmetered air from it's base which I fixed with insulating tape upon putting it back together!! Also check and recheck all AIC hose connections esp. the top elbow that fits into the intake manifold for leaks!
Also set up your adjustable AMM per Anders instructions...search on my name for what I did the other week....380 ohms resistance on the AMM is only the starting point for AMM set up on our earlier cars. Gotta get that analog volt meter oscillating from 1-12 volts evenly using the test connector under the PS reservoir.
