Iron Joe. THANKS! for the info. Some pics of your set up would be great as well.
OK. SOme follow up questions because its sounds like you were on a very similiar track to where I want to be.
1st after checking prices online everything is WAY cheaper than what that shop quoted me. I'll have to talk to him abou that.
next. baseic ques. With your 87 vert and my 94 is no spring chicken. Any doubts on putting all that money inot an older car on audio? Just a thought.
next. When you say "powered" sub and amp unit. Does this all draw from the car battery. No auxiliary power/battery required?
I do need an i-pod interface. "ll need to look into that more closely. Can you get a Blaupunkt in the $250 - $350 range? I wonder I f I can buy the hardware and just have them do the install.
Thanks for the tip on the $400 amp with no subwoofer. I'm really leaning to the woofer but need o asses the space issue. I regulary carry an ice hockey equipment bag in the trunk. I can probably get by with a smaller bag but I'd be curious to see a picture of your setup.
All in all how would you desrcibe your system. I mean what type of music are you listening to? I don't need/want to be the type of car that you can hear thumping away from 4 blocks away, but would LOVE to have crisp clean sound at fairly loud levels top down across a wide range of music.
Again, great info. Thanks.
Pete.
