Online is always cheaper... stores gotta pay their salesmen, right? All that time they spend trying to sell you something costs some cash. Anyway, don't forget shipping of course.
Honestly I never considered getting the money back that I put into my audio setup, but that's one reason I didn't spend thousands. I figured the price I paid was worth the enjoyment I got out of the music.
A powered sub means you run a cable from the battery to the sub... it's an enclosed unit with an amp, 10" subwoofer, and something called a 'passive resistor," not sure what it is but it sounds good. ;-) But yeah you don't need another battery.
all in all, my system isn't ridiculous, but it does exactly what I need it to without breaking the bank. most audiophiles would say "you could get better this, that, or the other thing" but this was more than adequate for me. I don't have the earthquake bass that trips car alarms, I mean come on, this is a SAAB, not a H*nda! I listen to classic rock, new rock, techno, hip-hop, and the oldies and if I can hear it with the top down I'm happy.
In the trunk I'm still able to carry my three-piece conv. boot, and I have a good amount of room. Granted it's no hatch but the space this Basslink uses really is minimal. We also have the same sub in our 97 900 SE, I like it so much.
