A spark could ignite those fumes? Uh-oh...

I've been living with the same situation for 2 years now. Within that timeframe, I've replaced the fuel cap (two times!), fuel filter, fuel pump (along with big sealing ring, and new o-rings on fuel line connections), FPR, and new charcoal cannister. None of this helped. I see no signs of leakage anywhere except for the awful smell. Most times, it's ever so slight (if at all), but if the car sits closed up for more than a day, it stinks.
I'm nervous now thinking it's going to spontaneously combust from a spark. Is this really true? What else am I missing that should be checked? Would a '93 have problems with cracking filler tubes?
