If you take out the trunk floor & the carpeting on the side, you can get a pretty good look at the filler pipe & all that plumbing. Sounds like you've looked real hard for a leak over there.
What about the sender for the fuel gauge? It's a smaller version sorta like the fuel pump mounting, just farther forwards.
Next you can check the vapor line that goes up to the charcoal canister. It runs along the roof, so you have to take down the headliner. That can be a source of fumes, but it's hard to find because that line doesn't carry liquid.
