Ok, Disregard the fact that I have an old unit with broken mast gears. I'm going to approach this question differently because I now have a new, complete antenna assembly including motor and mast. The previous owner says it works. While trying to test it before permanent installation, I made the proper connections, but I didn't ground the unit to the frame before I turned the radio on. To make a long story short the new mast never extended and the radio stopped playing. I pulled the radio and found both fuses to be intact. I've double checked all the connections. If the fuses are good, the radio is seated properly, the antenna is installed and grounded, and the two connections are snuggly made...are there any other fuses hidden somewhere that I should check?
It seems at this point that the antenna is not my problem at the moment. I am getting no signs of life from the head unit. Could I have possibly shorted the head unit out/killed it? I wanted to get a new head unit this weekend, but wanted to get the antenna working first. Now it appears I've created a new problem.
Thanks...
