Thanks for your thoughts! What is the final preload? Not sure what I am dealing with. The howl is louder now than before the rebuild. I used a stethescope to try and locate the sound because i noticed that I can hear it at idle very faintly (tranny in neutral) It is loudest at the plastic housing just in front of the engine and just on top of the tranny. I dont know if that is where the drive chains are... maybe those bearings? It seems louder there than on the main housing of the tranny. I really dont know much about it! I am actually getting two notes now... from about 45 mph through 65 mph is the loudest with two or three musical notes. I can just barely apply the gas... no real load or acceleration and reproduce the sound... can gently... "pump" the pedal and cause the sound to go in and out with out really loading the system too much! It is louder now than before though! Problem too... is that there was no gaurantee on the work and I think the guy could pretty much just tell me to take a hike. I may be royally screwed here!
