it looks like a oil slick under there Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: its not impossible..., Saabu ![]() |
and the only place i found is the rear differential cover is just soaked,
located fresh oil dripping from on c-companion flange bolt, but the differential bolts all look to be dripping,... if thats possible.
the shifter rod looks like i was under there polishing it, not to mention it looks as if it was dipped in a bin of oil.
but your right, i have no way of knowing if the seal is gone.
i only wanted to do this operation once (differential cover & dip cover)
thought while im under there why no slip the rod seal in.
only this that has me from putting the car in 3rd and ripping into the rod is what this indy said,
just why is it he thought the motor needed to be pulled to replace the seal. am i missing something... it looks like a simple operation?
its not one of them seals like the clutch shaft seal, where when i jump in im going to need a blow torch to finish the job?...(damb that clutch shaft seal just sucked.... hurts just thinking about it)
the hole motor is fine.. in no drips, drove 1000 miles never used any motor oil, but the freaken gear oil thinks its having a party under my car. right at the differential cover.
so im just about to order the gaskets from eeuroparts and i have the rad seal included in the order.... but is this something that in the end i will never be able to replace?
