Just some ideas/thoughts....
Colder Temps than normal? You have 10/30 in the tranny or something heavier? 75W gear oil and cold temps would make things tougher to move around, but that would not persist after the tranny has warmed up.
Run through the gears while stopped (engine off), then again. Is it easier the second time (after all the gears are in alignment), or is it still the same? If the same, that points to shifter/linkage more than anything else.
Same thing engine running, clutch in..better/worse?
I know you said you looked at the shifter coupling...and it looked good. Double check? Are you positive its not separating a tad on the one side? That would explain problems with 1/2. Put some hose clamps (1 1/4" fits I believe) on each side of the coupling, and is easier to do than replace the thing for troubleshooting purposes. With those in place try running through the gears again. Better or no change?
