people speak the holy mantra of 0-60 times but surely the AT was not put in US cars for that reason and the "engineers" or was it the marketing team who thought it was a good idea had the mid life cruiser and the downtown shopper in mind when they added it.
how about a more valid comparison of real world passing times - acceleration from 40 to 65 - where the manual may outperform the AT with or without the turbo and is likely to put less wear and tear on the engine?
one thing that always amazed me when we drove our AT 84 900 across North America was the buzzing of the rear view mirror at highway speeds - turning over 4000 rpm had some quirky effects on the car
