Changing the fluid at every 20,000 was a choice made by my dad(when he bought it in 1989) and I to keep it shifting smooth. It's not a recommended timeframe, just personal choice. And it is still shifting like it was in 1989. This is why he changed the oil every 2000 miles, the oil in this car is clear as a new bottle of oil even after my last change of 667 miles ago. When I change it it runs out clear from the drain hole. Nothing preserves a car like maintenance! Occasionally extreme maintenance.
They REALLY needed overdrive, the 3 speed is rediculous going 70 with a 4K rpm. I see a 1990 on here up in Tampa(2.5 hours from me), 5 speed, 2 door, I emailed him about it last night, I think I may have my second 900. IF it's not already sold. I have been wanting to get a coupe, too bad it's not a turbo!!!
