This can't be done with dremel, you need a polishing... darn, I don't know what's English for that :) What electric tool do you use for cutting... say metal tubes? Hint: very speedy, very noisy and pretty dangerous. I mean about the same tool but with much less RPM and moreover adjustable RPM. Then you need lot's of patience and special add-ons. And couple of spare lenses for obtaining some experience.
Btw I've found some local factories that can restore old reflectors. But what if I bump into smth much heavier then C900 when there're no reflectors available for C900? So that's why I'm thinking about the project we're talking about.
Back to polished glass vs plastic mask - even me who is taking it "I don't give a fk how it looks like I care what it is like" - I understand that headlights are car's eyes. And to be honest if you go the way below you'll finally come to some Honda from "Too fast, too furious" but not C900. Check some local shops that do stone-working (don't be scared if find one not far away from a cemetery, no kidding), they say somebody have found a guy who is working in such a shop and he said it's a piece of cake for them to do such polish. But I wasn't able to find such guy or a shop and I went thru that very experience with manual polish on my own.
And finally about guard films on the lenses... Long story short - rubbish. Trust me.
